Escape Pods - Kate Simko
/Kate Simko is originally from Chicago and now based in London. Kate is a classical pianist and composer as well as a DJ and electronic music producer. After years of carrying her record boxes around nightclubs and festivals Kate took a masters in composition for film at The Royal College of Music and has since gone on to score for several films including; 20 Weeks, We Believe in Dinosaurs, The Atom Smashers and most recently Underplayed.
Kate was the first electronic musician to perform at the National Gallery in London in 2013 before founding LEO – the London Electronic Orchestra, which is an all female fusion of classical and electronic music – the group have performed at celebrated festivals and venues around the world including The Albert Hall in London.
Kate is currently teaching electronic music at The Royal College of Music and yet still finds time to collaborate on the Opus One project with Jamie Jones…
