RiL 047 The Persuader & Stephan Grieder - Naked Women (Svek)

Svek still remains one of my all time favourite record labels. Started by Stephan Greider in Stockholm in 1996 Svek helped launch the careers of several influential Swedish producers notably Jesper Dahlback, Alexi Delano and the late great Erot. The label remained a local family affair putting out great records until 2003 when Grieder quit the music business to pursue a life in the art world. Well, I’m pretty sure he made more money in the art world than the rest of us poor suckers that stayed in music !

There are some great moments in the catalogue, mostly produced by Jesper Dahlback under his Persuader alias. He’s an interesting story himself, an unassuming guy that we also invited to record on 20/20 Vision with ‘Summer Madness’. Jesper was also the producer behind Tiga - ‘Pleasure from the Bass’, co-writing behind the scenes. Anyway ‘Naked Women’ was a co-production between Dahlback & Greider and alongside ‘View From Slussen’ the Svek record I played the most while resident at The Mint club. It’s just a groove really but the drums cut through like a knife and it had the uncanny habit of staying in my record box forever...
