RiL044 Round One - I'm your Brother (Main Street)

The second track to be featured in Records I Love from the timeless Round One series of records created by the legendary Moritz Von Oswald and Mark Ernestus from Basic Channel. It is also my favourite and probably the best.  For years I thought it was co-writer Chez Damier on vocals as it is a very similar tone and texture to his voice.  It was only in 2012 during a recording session with Damer at my studio that he told me the vocals were performed by a relatively unknown musician called Andy Caine. Once again I had been conjuring up the wrong mental image for years.  Mr Caine is white and wouldn't look out of place in an acoustic folk band.  He still certainly manages to deliver one of the most heartfelt, deep and melancholic vocals ever to grace a house music record.  The production is also as good as you would expect from such a heavyweight team.  Personally this record always reminds me of Domenic Cappello from the Sub Club, my brother in house if not blood.  You can hear the track from around 2.20 below...
